Matt Larson is a USA Cycling Certified Elite Level II Cycling Coach who also works privately as a Life Coach. He is a lifelong, multi-sport, serious recreational athlete who decided to pursue his primary sport of cycling following a career as a psychotherapist and child welfare worker. He has been working with Bruce Hendler of AthletiCamps since 2002, first as a coached athlete and Master’s racer, and since 2005, as a cycling coach.

Matt has expertise in using physiological testing and power to help athletes maximize their quality time on the bike. While Matt has an affinity for beginning cyclists and racers early in their careers, his savvy guiding experienced, Masters-level racers, shows that he can help athletes at all levels of the sport achieve significant improvement. Matt’s motto is: “Less is More”; he maintains focus on the reality that Master’s athletes have significant commitments outside of cycling, as well as needing time to recover. Matt’s experience and ongoing education has led to an innovative coaching style that focuses on life-work balance, nutrition, and utilizing a variety of training methods which result in motivated and successful athletes. Individual Coaching

• Continuous goal setting and review
• Unlimited email and phone contact
• Limited riding with coach
• Initial heart rate versus power or lactate to determine heart rate and power training zones, wattages, etc.
• Heart rate versus power follow-up testing (as needed)
• Body composition including body fat and body mass index (BMI)
• Pedal stroke analysis (optional)
• Performance testing (Max VO2 or Lactate Response to Exercise - optional)
• Biomechanical testing (optional)
• 2 month commitment, $50 start-up fee
