Training Educational Series


AthletiCamps is proud to offer a free cycling training education ‘classroom’ style series.  There’s a lot of ‘mystery’ in our sport that doesn’t have to be there.  No matter how long you’ve been cycling…or at what level, you’ll benefit from hearing from a group of experts who’ve made it their mission to stay at the cutting edge in their field.

Along with the presentation, there’ll be a lively question and answer period each evening.  How do we know it’ll be ‘lively’?  Because we’ve designed the series around the most common questions we’re asked by our athletes.

So whether your goal is to improve your fitness, or increase your enjoyment in the sport…or a bit of both, you’ll thoroughly enjoy these high energy evenings spent de-mystifying our beloved sport of cycling.

You’ll also benefit from the discounts we’ll be offering exclusively at the series.

When: All classes begin at 6:30 PM and will last approximately 1-1.5 hours

  • Nutrition - Weight loss and control- January 5th -The field of nutrition can be frustrating.  There’s so much information floating around, that it’s hard to know who to believe. Even finding out your optimum weight can be a guessing game.  But it doesn’t have to be. Join us for an evening with AthletiCamps’ nutritionist, Marlia Braun, PhD, as we discuss how to determine your best weight and the safest way to get you into ‘fightin shape’.

  • Time Trialing - Fitting and training - January 19th - Whether you’re interested in time trialing, or optimizing your bike leg of the next triathlon, you’ll benefit from an evening with Clay Meeks and Athleticamps. We’ll discuss what it takes to shave seconds or even minutes off your time.  You’ll discover the latest equipment (which gear gives you the biggest bang for your time trialing buck), proper fitting, and the cutting edge training techniques for the ‘race of truth’.


  • Nutrition - Supplementation - February 2nd - Worried that you’re not getting the nutrients you need…that you should be taking better supplements? Or are you wondering if you’re flushing your money down the toilet by taking supplements that your body doesn’t need? Join us for instruction and lively discussion on the supplements needed by cyclists demanding the utmost from their bodies.



  • Training - Athlete versus competitor- February 16th - You may have heard the buzz about our widely popular Race School.  On Feb 16th you can get a free sampling of the Race School menu that has cyclists raving.  Cycling is unique amongst the other endurance sports.  Whether you come from a team sports background, a running background, or haven’t competed in any sports whatsoever, you’ll be glad you came to sample from the years of racing experience presented by our coaches. Based on the lively interaction we receive at the Race School, this evening promises to provide what you’ll need to take your racing to the next level.




  • Nutrition - On the bike - March 2nd - You may be able to fudge nutritionally if you’re competing in a strictly ‘skill’ sport, or a short duration sport…but that’s not at all the case in the sport of cycling! There’s no sense in compromising the hours and hours you’ve invested in training by not fueling your engine optimally.  That goes for before, during, and even after a cycling event.  You’ll leave knowing how much to consume, what types of nutrition leads to peak performance, and even the role proper nutrition plays in dramatically reducing your recovery time.
