If there is one commonality amongst these athletes, it’s they, as well as countless of others, have come to AthletiCamps to help them improve in the sport they love. They all come from different backgrounds, with different goals, and all believe in our unique training system. They understand that becoming a successful athlete takes time, patience, dedication, and a belief in the coaching program. As students of the sport, they have learned a great deal about themselves both on and off the bike.
The results of our athletes speak for themselves, countless wins and podium finishes at every level of the sport. Our goal is not only to improve your fitness, but to teach you how to achieve your goals!
Vicki M. (Roseville, CA.) - These guys are great! I can't believe the difference the AthletiCamps team made in my riding ability just by adjusting the bike fit. After getting out of cycling for a few years, my body wasn't as forgiving about the way my bike fit when I started riding again. A couple of people recommended AthletiCamps for a fitting and I am so glad I did. I had no idea how off the fit was or what a difference a good fit could make. Riding is a lot easier. I'm riding stronger and farther with a lot less effort. I'm honestly amazed. Thanks you!
Doug K. (Sacramento, CA.) - I wanted to give you a quick update on how I have appreciated the bike fit you performed on me this year. Let me tell you it has been an amazing transformation! I have ridden since 2005 and have always felt some sort of discomfort on the seat and feet during any ride that's over 80 miles. Two weeks ago I attempted a full Ironman and swam 2.4 miles , then jumped off and did the 112 miles at 18.5 miles per hour average. Never once did I feel any pain in the seat nor in my feet! This was simply amazing to me. You made my biking life much better than it ever has been and wanted to thank you for this transformation.
Steve B. (Sacramento CA) - Here is a status report of my bike fit. If I had to summarize it in a single would, I would probably use "AMAZING". Truly, I couldn't be happier. The bike feels like a new ride. Totally different on the road. I did a few shorter rides, then last weekend did Ridge and this weekend did Baxter Grade.
During the rides, I feel like I can really push myself and grow in strength. Before when I pushed myself it didn't feel right, like something was out of alignment and I was not able to use my major muscle groups, if that makes sense. Like I mentioned when we first met, I don't know what I don't know, and that couldn't ring more true. I "thought" I was comfortable on the bike but until I did your Retül fit, I didn't know what comfort was.
Hands, arms, neck, and shoulders all feel great. No discomfort. So overall am extremely pleased with the results. Couldn't be happier. Thank you!
Alan L. (Natomas, CA) - I had a great time. Thanks for explaining the process and results clearly and answering all my questions. I couldn't believe how much better my upper body felt after make your suggested component changes. You can count on me spreading the word and getting my friends to head over to your facility!
Carol H. (Roseville, CA) - After getting my racing bike fit at Athleticamps, I was surprised and extremely happy with how my bike felt. It was like it was an extension of my body. I'm a fitness professional by trade, and am hyper aware of body positioning and alignment. I've been fit before, on the same bike, and it was nothing like getting fitted with the Retul equipment and AthletiCamps. Such a smooth, pain free ride! I highly recommend their fitting service!
Bill M. (Citrus Heights, CA) - I enjoyed the bike fit experience, I didn't really know what to expect. AthletiCamps staff made the experience fun and very informative. I really felt like my input was critical to the process. It was nice to work with people that really are engaged in the work they do. Just from riding on the trainer, it seems like I am on my bike in a much better position. I am really looking forward to putting the hammer down!

Dan M. (El Dorado Hills, CA.) - I don’t like to recommend a coach to anyone. For one simple reason, it is absolutely something that differentiates. It is the same reason why I don’t share race tactics with other teams. The margin of victory is sometimes so small, that any advantage must be protected. The other side is that the AthletiCamps staff has been so valuable to me over the past years that I feel I owe it to them to share their skills with others.
I have now used AthletiCamps as a coaching resource for many years. The progress went from good, to great, to unbelievable! It came to a pinnacle by winning many races in 2007, including Bisbee and Mt Hood stage races in the masters division, and also Cat’s Hill in the P/1/2 field. They not only help me tune my training with the best scientific methods available, he provided the psychological support that is most often overlooked.
It definitely helped that Bruce was also a bike racer for so many years. He was genetically gifted to be a fierce competitor, but not so much that he could make mistakes and still win. This is what I was looking for in my search for a coach. Someone who was forced to learn both the physical and mental aspects of racing. Having the fitness is one thing, but knowing how to properly use it to your advantage is far more important. They started working with me when I had a race IQ that was borderline nursery school, and now I feel like I have a PhD.
On top of everything else is Bruce’s ability to become not just your coach, but your partner. He is there with me during each race. More often than not he is saying “Patience Dan, Patience”. Then at the absolute perfect time he screams with all his might “Counter! Now! Hard!”. When your internal voice is rational, at the time when you are on the physical edge of your abilities, you know your coach is the real deal. With Bruce, I didn’t get just a coach. I got a training partner, a teammate, and a mentor all in one.
Craig R. (Napa, CA.) I had been bike racing in Northern California for years and had some success. One thing though was missing and that was a win in my favorite race; Tour De Nez. Sometimes, all an athlete needs to be successful is a knowledgeable coach that can evaluate your current program and make a couple “tweaks.” Well, that is what AthletiCamps did for me and with those small changes and a ton of motivation from my coach and the program, I went out and finally won the Tour De Nez. Then, a new challenge emerged. My desire to win a National Championship on the road. With the help of AthletiCamps, 2009 was the year we made it happen. National Champion and winner at Tour De Nez. Not only have two major goals been achieved, I believe that I can and will improve. Bravo to AthletiCamps! I will be a client as long as I bike race!

Mark R. (Davis, CA) - I attended a four-day camp performance at AthletiCamps. The performance testing, the rides, the coaching, the informational lectures - all were very professionally done. On the road, AthletiCamps does a superb job of tailoring the experience to the individual needs of the riders, even when those needs vary considerably from rider to rider. They work hard to structure the rides so that everyone, from recreational/fitness riders to current racers (we had some of both at the camp), feels welcome and included. Everyone learns a great deal that is useful to achieving higher levels of performance on the bike. The performance testing is an important and integral part of the camp: from the results, each rider’s training zones are established. These training zones form the basis for the specific drills and workout types that you learn over the rest of the camp. Whether you are training for your first century, or are an experienced bike racer reaching for that next level, you will learn how to get there in a smart way. All of the coaching and instruction, including the information on nutrition, is distilled from and supported by peer-reviewed scientific research. Also, with his enthusiasm and encouragement, AthletiCamps creates a friendly atmosphere and camaraderie among the riders. Overall, a terrific experience and a great value.
Greg O. (New York, NY) - I just wanted to let you know how amazingly helpful your camp was. The physiological evaluations were incredible and will benefit me greatly for this season and beyond. The rides the following days were wonderfully scenic, yet quite challenging. I especially appreciated the on-bike evaluation and the tips you gave throughout the ride. Can’t wait to come back next year with all my riding buddies!
Dianne L. (Corpus Christie, Texas) - The best testimonial for any training endeavor has to be a description of positive results. With the many tools for improvement that Athleticamps provided during the short time of the Performance camp, I am well on the way to becoming a stronger and smarter rider. Many riders in my local club have commented on the improvement in just a couple months. The bike fitting assessment gave me the information for properly fitting me to a new bike. AthletiCamps listens to individual goals and offers practical, sensible techniques to reach them. They welcome questions and offers lots of encouragement. The testing was first class. We were all made to feel just as important as one of the many elite athletes that are examined and coached there. Athleticamps has assembled an incredible circle of associates, friends, and advisors that make them unique. I encourage anyone who wants straight answers to their questions about cycling to attend a clinic or camp. I traveled all the way from Texas and it was worth every mile!

Dan G. (Grass Valley, CA.) - For me, coming to AthletiCamps once a month to performance test has been the key to my improved fitness. I like the data, I like being held accoutable and most importantly, as a doctor, I like the knowledge as it applies to cycling that Athleticamps offers. They don't just perform your test, but also educate you on it's meaning and how you can use it to adjust your training. I continue to return, because it works! Visit them soon for some of the most useful information you can have in terms of improving your performance.
Sean O. (Sacramento, CA.) - When I started recreational cycling I was lucky to meet an upper category racer who suggested I visit Athleticamps to learn how to train effectively. I contacted Athleticamps and arranged a performance test to begin the process. After the testing session I was given a heart-rate training program to follow. I improved so quickly that after a few months, I was ready to begin participating actively in century rides, gran fondos, and better yet, be competitive on local race-pace group rides. I then consulted with Athleticamps for VO2 Max testing and adjustments to my training program that helped me reach my goal of making it to Category 3 road racing. The bottom line is that for me, the performance testing really identified what I needed to focus on in my training program and I have the upmost trust for AthletiCamps knowledge and experience to guide me to being more successful on the bike. Visti them now!
